Turkish film director awarded Golden Apricot in Yerevan

Golden Apricot 7th international film festival in Yerevan draw to an end on July 18. The ceremony of handind the awards took place in Moscow Cinema in downtown Yerevan.

This year about 120 films were shown of all the 500 applications received. Forty five films competed in 3 nominations judged by 5 international jury.

Golden Apricot, the main prize, in Best Feature Film Contest nomination was awarded to Kosmos by Turkish film director Reha Erdem.

The Silver Apricot prize was awarded to My Joy by Sergei Lozintsa.

Pavel Kostomarov's Together was awarded the Golden Apricot in Best Documentary Film nomination, while the Silver Apricot went to The Woman with Five Elephants by Vadim Jendreyko.

In Armenian Panorama Competition nomination the Golden Apricot went to Arman Yeritsyan and Inna Sahakyan for The Last Tightrope Dancer in Armenia.

The second prize was awarded to Koms Chahbazian for Down Here.

Special Attention was awarded to Nikolay Davtyan for his Uncle Valya.

FPRESCI Jury Award went to Jasmila Zbanic for the film On the Path.

Ecumenical Jury Award went to Suren Babayan for Don't Look in the Mirror, and the Special Recommendation to Aleksei Popogrebsky for How I Ended This Summer.

Hrant Matevosyan Prize went to Marat Sargsyan for the short film Lernavan, which also received the Best Short Film Award by the British Council Armenia.
