Armenian embassy in Cairo launches hot line

Armenia's embassy in Cairo has launched a hot line in an attempt to support the local Armenians, as well as Armenian nationals amid concerns that they may face problems following the political unrest in Egypt.
Armenian nationals, currently in Egypt, can call +20122163850, if they need help by the embassy.
Tigran Balayan, the spokesperson for Armenian Foreign Ministry told Tert.am that everything is all right with both the Armenian nationals who are currently in Egypt, and with the Egyptian-Armenians.
He also said that, if necessary, they can gather in the Armenian embassy which is located in the diplomatic quarter of the city and is under high security.
The unrest in Egypt follows an uprising in Tunisia two weeks ago which toppled President Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali after 23 years in power.
Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has already dissolved the cabinet and named intelligence chief Omar Suleiman as the first ever vice-president in his 30-year rule.
Leaders from the US, UK, France and Germany have urged Mubarak to avoid violence and enact reforms as protests continue.
"We call on President Mubarak to avoid at all costs the use of violence against unarmed civilians, and on the demonstrators to exercise their rights peacefully," UK's David Cameron, Germany's Angela Merkel and France's Nicolas Sarkozy said in a joint statement.
