The Armenian, Azerbaijani and Russian Presidents, Serzh Sargsyan, Ilham Aliyev and Dmitri Medvedev held their 10th meeting in Sochi, Russia.

The three presidents issued a statement on the meeting results, RIA Novosti reports.

In their statement the Armenian, Azerbaijani and Russian leaders pointed out that, due to the intensive negotiations, they reached progress in agreeing on the principles of the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process. Considering the importance of passing on to drafting a peace agreement, the Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents expressed their willingness to speed up the process in the context of the work done.

The Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders expressed their appreciation for the mediation by Russia, France and the US, the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing states. They hope that the three will continue playing an active role in the peace process, until peace and stability has been established in the region.

The Russian and Azerbaijani presidents confirmed that developing humanitarian contacts is a means of building up mutual confidence. In this context, the Armenian and Azerbaijani leader stated their willingness to promote further dialogue between intellectuals.

The three presidents took into account the co-chairing countries’ report on a mechanism of investigating incidents on the Line of Contact prepared by the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries in cooperation with the personal representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office. They ordered the work to be continued.
