Trump 'didn't talk about Genocide' after Congress resolutions – Suren Sargsyan
In a recently shared public post on Facebook, a Yerevan-based expert in international relations, Suren Sargsyan, addresses the BBC article on Donald Trump's attitude to the recently passed Armenian Genocide resolutions.
Considering the analysis highly manipulative, Sargsyan notes that the US president did not talk either about the House or Senate measures after their passage in October and December, respectively
Pointing out to the absence of any reference in the publication, Sargsyan also notes that none of the US administrations changed its stance on issue in the past four decades.
The expert also admits that Trump is the only US president in the past 30 years who never promised anything, thereby also safeguarding himself aagainst the scenario of letting people down.
He also dismisses the allegations that Trump obstructed the passage of the measure by the Senate, highlighting instead his contribution to its overwhelming support.
Sargsyan notes that the three vetos imposed at the White House request were temporary and linked to either Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's recent visit Washington or the Turkish community's attempts to negotiate with administration officials.
