The opposition to organize “an interesting rally” on March 1

The coordinator of the Armenian National Congress (ANC), Levon Zurabyan, said in Pastark club today that the opposition headed by Levon Ter-Petrosyan did not give up the idea of organizing a mass action on March 1. In reply to Tert.am’s question about its possible scenario, Levon Zurabyan refused going into details, noting only that it would be a very interesting rally with serious and interesting ideas regarding the continuation of the struggle as well.

The ANC coordinator said that the aim of the rally was to honour the memory of the March 1 victims and to strengthen their supporters' will to struggle. According to him, it was the day when the Armenian authorities passed the Rubicon, applied force to the people causing 10 deaths. “It was the day when the people's appeal was stifled by force. On this very day we must, first of all, honour the memory of the victims fallen in the struggle for democracy. On this very day we must strengthen the people's will to struggle for the establishment of democracy and true economic system, for the improvement of the political system, and it’s very important that the people show their will on that day,” said Levon Zourabyan adding that they would hold a peacuful rally on March 1. He pointed out that the opposition would prepare a guide for the demonstrators with instructions on how to avoid provocations.
