Monica Bellucci, oozes glamour in a plunging silk gown with statement bling at Sofia Coppola's opera La Traviata in Rome

She dazzled the silver screen when she made her Bond girl debut at the age of 51 in 2015 007 hit, Spectre. 

And Monica Bellucci proved her eternal sex-appeal as she stepped out for the opening of Sofia Coppola's take on La Traviata at the Rome Opera House in Italy on Sunday night.

The Italian actress, 51, radiated class in a plunging black silk gown, which she teamed with a statement sapphire and diamond necklace, The Daily Mail reports.

The low neckline of the glamorous garment worked with the bling to accentuate her cleavage, while the rest of the number went on to hug the rest of her curvaceous figure.

The bottom of the dress went on to flare out slightly with just a peek of her heels displayed underneath.

Adding to the sophistication, the screen siren ensured her brunette tresses were parted down the middle and slicked back in to a bun.

Monica completed her show-stopping red carpet look with natural make-up to highlight her striking features.

The lavish evening looked the perfect down-time for Monica - who has two daughters, Deva and Léonie, with her French actor ex-husband Vincent Cassel.

The Dolce & Gabbana muse will soon be busy again as she is set to appear in the 2017 revival of US series Twin Peaks, alongside Naomi Watts, Amanda Seyfried and Jessica Szohr.

The original 90s drama followed an FBI investigation into the murder of a homecoming queen in the fictional town of Twin Peaks, Washington.

Monica appeared to be having an incredible time at the opera opening, which was held in conjunction with fashion designer Valentino, who designed the costumes.

The regal couture production also brought out fashion heavy-hitters- Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.  

Kim, who fan-girled over Monica with an Instagram selfie, looked sensational on her next European stop as she slipped her famous curves into a very figure-hugging white Vivienne Westwood number, which flaunted her ample assets to perfection.

Her rapper and designer husband looked his dapper best as he was suited and booted in a smart in a black tuxedo and suede boots.

Joining them at the star-studded event were Keira Knightley, Elizabeth Hurley and socialite Olivia Palermo. 

The filmmaker, daughter of silver screen legend Francis Ford Coppola who has taken charge of the new production also looked sensational in a gothic-inspired turtleneck number which featured sheer lace detailing. 

The auteur, who was nominated for a Best Director Oscar for Lost in Translation, revealed she was nervous about taking on such a revered piece of work until Valentino talked her into it.

She explained: 'I didn’t really know what to expect and I never could have had the courage to direct an opera, but then Valentino and Mr [Giancarlo] Giammetti [the designer’s artistic collaborator] asked me.

“I thought what an incredible experience to be able to work in the Rome opera house with the beautiful costumes and the team here, so that motivated me to take a chance and do something that was scary and very unfamiliar.”

Valentino - who is a patron of the opera house - invited Coppola after watching her 2006 movie Marie Antoinette.

The 84-year-old admits he was drawn by her skill of 'balancing the classic and the modern'.
The collaboration has already proven box office gold - with 1.2 million euros being taken already for the run, which lasts until June 30.

Carlo Fuortes, the general manager of the opera house, says: “We had no doubts about her (Coppola's) abilities but crossing from cinema to opera is not easy. She turned out to be a wonderful director. For us it’s a great honour to have her here.”
