'Fantastic trip to Meghri' - Lapshin 'impressed by magnificent sites' in Armenia’s south (photos)

Russian-Israeli blogger Alexander Lapshin, who is in Armenia these days, has shared his impressions of a recent trip to Armenia’s south.
In a post on Facebook, the blogger, who earlier travelled to Turkey to see historical Armenian sites, speaks about the city of Meghri (Syunik region) situated close to the Iranian border.
“It was an absolutely fantastic trip to the southernmost city of Armenia - Meghri - which lies almost on the border of Iran. We crossed almost 45 kilometers, and it was perhaps my finest trip over the past year. The Armenian region of Syunik and the gorge bordering with Aras River definitely provide scene to one of the most beautiful landscapes across Armenia, which is also the best across the Caucasus region. My special and heartfelt gratitude to the Russian and Armenian border guards who made this trip possible, as well as my personal words of gratitude to the Russian FSB border detachment officers of Meghri,” reads his status.
Lapshin says that they crossed the most perilous roadway across Armenia and promises to speak about that in more detail in a separate post.
