National Agenda party bids for political role-player's status 'amid pressing challenges' for Armenia, says member

The National Agenda party is announcing its birth and bidding for a role-player's status in national politics in a period of pressing challenges on both the domestic and foreign political arenas, a member of the newly launched party has said.

In a speech at the founding session on Saturday, Ishkhan Saghatelyan expressed also his firm that they will "serve with dignity" to the declared mission to match the title symbolizing the party's name.

″The National Agenda party's birth was made possible thanks to public and political figures and individuals who stood at the roots of this political force and who, in their public speeches and the public discourse, shared their views on the political developments, clarifying positions and principles and establishing red lines, thereby substantiating and proclaiming values - and the right of a political party pursuing specific principles,″ he said.

Saghatelyan also expressed his concern od the authorities' unacceptably negative conduct ″potentially deeepening the abyss of noational insolidarity, poisoning the psychological atmosphere.″

″Whether launched intentionally or without premeditation, it is a crackdown on the values contributing to the accomplishment and creation of our identity. The authorities have resorted to repressive methods, crossing all the legal and moral red lines - including those of the country’s constitutional institution. The absence of principles and strategic programs coupled with the unpredictability of behavior and willingness of serve foreign-born agendas, pose a danger and threat to national values,″ the politician said.
