Բեյրութի նավահանգստում տեղի ունեցած ողբերգական պայթյունի առաջին տարելիցի օրը Լիբանանի մայրաքաղաքում բախումներ են տեղի ունեցել ցուցարարների և ոստիկանների միջև, գրում է Daily Mail-ը՝ մանրամասնելով, որ ցուցարարների ուղղությամբ ջրցան մեքենաներ և արցունքաբեր գազ է կիրառվել:

Նշվում է, որ ցուցարարները պարսատիկներով քարեր են նետել խորհրդարանի շենքի վրա, հարյուր հազարավոր մարդիկ երթով անցել են քաղաքով` աղետի համար պատասխանատվություն պահանջելով:

Ցուցարարների մի մասը փորձել է անցնել շենքի դարպասների վրայով, իսկ մյուսները դաժանորեն ծեծվել են ոստիկանական մահակներով: Ոստիկանությունը հատուկ միջոցներ է կիրառել այն բանից հետո, ինչ ցուցարարները նրանց վրա սկսել են քարեր նետել:

Բողոքի ակցիայի հազարավոր մասնակիցներ Բեյրութի նավահանգստում 2020 թվականի օգոստոսի 4-ի տեղի ունեցած պայթյունի տարելիցին հավաքվել են քաղաքի կենտրոնական փողոցներում՝ հնչեցնելով հակակառավարական կոչեր ու հորդորելով քաղաքական առաջնորդներին հրաժարական տալ:

Պայթյունի հետևանքով ոչնչացել կամ վնասվել էին հարյուրավոր տներ, զոհվել էր առնվազն 214 մարդ, իսկ 6 հազարից ավելին վիրավորվել էին: Լիբանանի մայրաքաղաքը աղետի գոտի էր ճանաչվել: Հետաքննությունը մինչ օրս չի կարողացել պարզել պայթյունի բոլոր հանգամանքներն ու հայտնաբերել մեղավորներին:
