ANC Rally and March Disappointed Armenian Authorities

The Armenian National Congress (ANC) believes that Armenian authorities are disappointed since the March 1 commemoration rally and march they organized was conducted successfully.

“Given the immense efforts the authorities had taken to hinder the March 1 rally, I can assure you that the rally took place successfully. Though all the roads leading from marzes (provinces) to Yerevan were blocked all day long, our supporters were able to avoid the blockage and take part in the rally,” said ANC spokesperson Arman Musinyan at a March 4 press conference.

In his words, they highlighted several important points during the rally and also decided to organize another march on March 16 with the next rally being on April 16.

“Authorities are very confused now and are trying to adopt a strategy and take steps to counter us,” said Musinyan.

According to him, authorities thought that after several months’ break this rally organized by ANC would fail and that they would have an opportunity to work with “free hands.” Musinyan also added that it was typical of Armenian authorities to take countering steps after each rally.
