New E-Government System to Improve Governance Transparency: Armenian PM
On March 2, RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan and Chief of Government Staff David Sargsyan introduced a new system of e-government, already in place and operational in 25 government agencies in Armenia, reads an official Government of Armenia press release.
“The new system will help enhance efficiency and productivity in government activities, providing for transparency and proper control on the part of society which will get access to public governance.
“On the one hand, they will be allowed to keep track of decision-making processes and on the other hand, they will have a possibility to follow up and check the status of their letters, petitions, applications, [and] licensing requests at any stage of processing,” said the Armenian PM.
Going into the details of the newly introduced Mulberry system of e-governance, Chief of Government Staff David Sargsyan said:
“Transition toward the system of e-governance implies providing online public services, minimizing the need for direct public servant-citizen contacts and reducing corruption risks considerably.”
