OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair Expected to Visit the Region at the Beginning of April

In a March 11 briefing, official representative of Russia’s Foreign Ministry Andrei Nesterenko referred to the settlement process of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and to the work done by the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, according to a statement on the Russian Foreign Ministry website.

Nesterenko particularly said that Moscow considers the process of negotiations normal.

“The OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs are currently waiting for the reactions and proposals of the two sides on the revised Madrid Principles,” said Nesterenko, adding that last week the co-chairs met with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and will be meeting with Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian to discuss the proposals on the revised Madrid Principles.

After the meetings with the Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers, according to Nesterenko, the co-chairs are planning to make a visit to the region at the beginning of April. They are expected to visit Yerevan, Stepanakert and Baku in an effort to bring closer the approaches of the conflicting sides on the principles that have not yet been agreed upon.
