Armenian Economic Minister Not Doing His Job: Gagik Tsarukyan

“No one in the world has said that the [economic] crisis is over,” said Prosperous Armenia Party leader and notorious businessman Gagik Tsarukyan to journalists in today’s National Assembly meeting, while not excluding the possibility that the crisis’ second phase might begin.

“Those states who’ve experienced a growth, instead of a decline, of 4–6% don’t attempt to say that the crisis is over,” he said.

According to Tsarukyan, RA Minister of Economy Nerses Yeritsyan, who recently had said that the crisis has been “overcome” in Armenia, “hasn’t been in his place; he’s overseeing neither the economy nor the state of the economy.”

Asked whether he had informed Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan of his opinion, Tsarukyan said that the president is already aware of this and is taking the necessary measures.

“Everything can’t be left up to the country’s president. The man has two hundred employees, he can’t follow them properly. One must be consistent and serve the people, not attribute everything to the president,” said Tsarukyan.
