Nabucco to Begin Supplying Gas in 2014

Construction of the Nabucco southern gas pipeline, transporting natural gas from the Caspian basin to Europe by passing Russia, is scheduled to begin in 2011 with gas being supplied in 2014, said Reinhard Mitschek, the managing director of an international consortium established for the construction of highways, reports APA, citing RIA Novosti.

The Nabucco pipeline project is estimated to cost $7.9 billion USD and involves the transport of gas to Europe via Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Austria.
