Armenian Businessman in Russia Employed 30 Illegal Migrants, Kept Them Against their Will in Forced Labor Conditions

Russian law enforcement officers have set 30 Vietnamese females free from forced labor in a clothing factory in Egorevsk, in the vicinity of Moscow. They were kept in the factory against their will and were forced to work for free in an illegal business owned by an Armenian man based in Russia, Interfax news agency reports.

The investigation has revealed that a whole gang has been involved in the case. Its members went to Vietnam, promised local residents jobs at very favorable conditions, cheated them and brought them to Egorevsk, took their documents away and kept them in the factory for forced labor.

Two of these Vietnamese hostages had tried to make a narrow escape from the window of the factory by using ropes made from the shirts they sew but failed and broke some bones in the process.

The members of the gang have been arrested, and an investigation is underway. They are set to receive 3-10 years sentences if convicted.
