Constitutional Changes Bring Turkey Closer to Democracy: Safrastyan

In the coming months, changes to Turkey’s Constitution will become the country’s most important domestic issue, said Turkologist and Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies at Armenia’s National Academy of Sciences Ruben Safrastyan at a press conference today, noting that Turkey’s main opposition has come out against those changes.

Safrastyan added that if those changes take place, Turkey will move closer to democracy.

“However public opinion on that is not unequivocal,” he said.
