Possibilities of Cooperation between Armenia and International Criminal Court Discussed

RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian yesterday met with Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Luis Moreno-Ocampo, who is in Yerevan to attend the 37th FIDH (International Federation for Human Rights) Congress.

Nalbandian placed importance on the International Criminal Court’s activities, stressing the court’s role in preventing crimes against humanity.

Luis Moreno-Ocampo, in turn, noted that the ICC’s primary aim is the protection of human rights and serious crimes, including genocide prevention.

According to a release issued by the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nalbandian and Moreno-Ocampo discussed the possibilities of cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the International Criminal Court.
