Kyrgyz President Threatens Shedding Blood

The ousted President of Kyrgyzstan, Kurmanbek Bakiyev has warned the new authorities in the country not to make any attempt to arresting him, threatening of undesirable consequences.

"Let them try, and blood will be shed," Bakiyev was quoted by INTERFAX news agency in a village in the southern part of Kyrgyzstan.

Bakiyev was ousted during April 7 unrest in different parts of the country that left 79 dead and several hundreds wounded.

He suggests deploying UN peacekeepers so in an attempt to preventing the repetition of the Bishkek events. He has also suggested creating independent international commission to probe into April 7 events.

"If the independent commission carries out a complete investigation and says in its conclusion that 'Mr. President, all this was your fault,' then I am ready to be held completely responsible in front of my people," said Bakiyev.
