Atletico Madrid Defeated Liverpool Thanks to Forlan

Atletico Madrid will take a one-goal advantage to Anfield next Thursday thanks to a 1-0 win over Liverpool at the Vicente Calderon earlier this evening.

Diego Forlan's goal in the eighth minute was enough for los Colchoneros to keep their Europa League aspirations alive.

Speaking after the match, the former Manchester United striker expressed his delight at having scored what eventually turned out to be the winner but warned his team-mates against any complacency.
