Gas Supplies to Armenia Resumed

Georgian Gas and Oil Corporation has already finished the reconstruction of North-South gas pipeline, and the supplies of the Russian gas to Armenia resumed since late evening on May 10.

The gas supply was disrupted on April 29 due to a landslide in the Georgian mountainous region of Kazbek.

According to Russian media sources as soon as the reconstruction was over the Georgian side tested the pipeline on May 6 in order to restart the gas supply but it turned out that there were other damaged parts on the pipeline again caused by landslides.

Up to this day gas has been supplied to the Armenian consumers from an underground gas storage in the city of Abovyan - an industrial town near the capital city of Yerevan.
