All Vehicles Can Now Cross Upper Lars Checkpoint

The Upper Lars-Kazbeki checkpoint in Georgia has allowed from May 22 all kind of vehicles to cross the checkpoint, among them also trucks carrying loads more than 10 tons, Press Secretary of the Ministry of Transport and Communications Susanna Tonoyan told Tert.am.

Before May 22 trucks were forbidden to cross the checkpoint due to climatic reasons, and only passenger cars (maximum 30 passengers) and trucks carrying a maximum of 10 tons of loads were allowed to cross the border from that checkpoint.

From March 1 till November 1 the checkpoint will be open from 6am to 10pm, while from November 1 till March 1 it will operate from 07am till 7pm.
