Georgia's Former First Lady Threats with Self-Immolation

Former First Lady of Georgia Manana Archvadze Gamsakhurdia intends to arrange self-immolation in front of the Georgian Parliament. The widow of the first president Zviad Gamsakhurdia intends to arrange a rally in front of the parliament at 6 pm local time reports Azerbaijani Trend News agency.

She requires the release of her son, Tsotne Gamsakhurdia, who was sentenced to nine and a half years for attempted murder.
Manana Archvadze Gamsakhurdia said Tsotne has gone for hunger strike already 20 days demanding to restore order in the Georgian prisons.

This is a second hunger strike of Tsotne Gamsakhurdia, who first declared a hunger strike after arrest, when he didn't plead guilty and starved for 43 days. He ended the action only after a visit of the Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II, who asked him to stop life-threatening hunger strike.
