2216 Resolution is the Result of Turkish-Azerbaijani Lobby: Gagik Melikyan

There is no need to worry about the 2216 resolution recently adopted by the European Parliament on South Caucasus as it is a non-binding document and therefore cannot have any essential effect on the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh, Republican Party of Armenia MP Gagik Melikyan said at a press conference today.

Melikyan attached importance to the fact that the resolution is the result of Turkish-Azerbaijani joint efforts.

As what concerns the work the Armenian group conducted in the European Parliament, Melikyan opposed to the criticism that it did not work properly. According to him, the resolution would be adopted regardless how much efforts the Armenian group would spend.

At the same he mentioned that the Armenian group should strengthen its works in such bodies, adding that Yerevan will officially respond to that resolution at a high level.
