On May 28 We Laid Foundations of Our Independent State: Tigran Sargsyan

Any nation should strive for independence which will secure its eternity and sustainable growth, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said while, on the occasion of the Day of Republic, visiting Sardarabad – a memorial architectural-sculptural complex built in 53 km from Yerevan to town Armavir in honour of the 50th anniversary of the Armenians’ victory over the Turkish invaders in 1918.

“On May 28 we are visiting Sardarabad and paying tribute to those who were able to bring independence to our country and, as a matter of fact, laid the foundations of the independent statehood. Later may 28 was inspiring future offsprings, invigorating them in that fight and was keeping the dream of having an independent statehood alive. This is the first symbolism of the day. This is what always brings us here,” said Sargsyan.
