Israeli Ambassador Called to Turkish Foreign Ministry

Israel's Ambassador in Ankara Gabby Levy was called to the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

It comes after Israeli navy opened fire on a flotilla of six ships carrying humanitarian aid to the Gaza strip that left more than 10 people dead, reports BBC News.

According to Turkish media reports the Turkish Foreign Ministry issued also a statement over the incident.

"Israel must be ready for possible consequences. That is unacceptable. We are condemning it and are waiting for explanations," read the statement.

Turkish media report that the Israeli authorities have forbidden local media outlets to report details on deaths and injuries.
