'Holocaust Remains the Most Genocidal Genocide for Jews': Expert

The recent developments in Turkey-Israel relations are nothing but a “diplomatic game,” and no war is probable between these two states, Deputy Director of the Caucasus Institute Sergei Minasyan and leader of National Neoconservative Movement Eduard Apramyan told a press conference today.

Apramyan said that the situation between these two countries is seemingly tense, adding that they have agreed upon all possible scenarios in advance.

Asked about the probability that Israel could recognize the Armenian Genocide against the backdrop of Turkish-Israeli relations Apramyan said: “Israel has many opportunities to solving its problems with Turkey. It may start speculating over the Armenian Cause but only at the rallies,” said he, adding that Israel will not recognize the Armenian Genocide.

According to Minasyan the Israeli elite will to some extent change its stance towards the Genocide, but Israel has a lot of other ways to bring influence upon Turkey.

“The Armenian Genocide is quite a huge resource to bring influence on Turkey, [rather] a golden bladder, which they will not use yet. I do not think that the relations are in such bad conditions that the Genocide issue will be raised at this stage,” said Minasyan.

At the same time he mentioned that the Holocaust remains “the most genocidal genocide for some Jewish political and public figures, and therefore Israel will hardly acknowledge the Armenian Genocide.”
