Wedding Cars Forbidden to Make Noise on Republican Square

At a Government session today Armenia’s Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan told the Police Chief Alik Sargsyan that citizens have complained about the noise the cars make with their horns at wedding parties while having a tour on the Republican Square, a long-standing tradition and an inseparable ceremonial scenario in most wedding parties in Yerevan.

Sargsyan said that given there are museums, hotels, ministries and the Government Building on this very site, the citizens should be asked to kindly quit that tradition.

Alik Sargsyan, in turn, promised to take up that issue.

“We do accept your observation. We will make an announcement in media and will take measures [for the purpose],” said Sargsyan.
