Israeli Students Hit Back at Ankara as They Plan to Send Aid to Armenians and Kurds in Turkey

A group of Israeli students has decided to send a Peace Flotilla to Turkey that will deliver humanitarian aid to Armenians and Kurds who suffered losses during the Ottoman Empire in Turkey.

It seems a response to the recent similar initiative by a Turkish NGO that sent Flotilla of Freedom to the Gaza Strip. The flotilla was set to deliver humanitarian aid but it was intercepted and raided by Israeli commandos and taken into hostage. At least 9 people were killed during the raid - all are said to have been Turks.

According to Yerkramas, a newspaper based in Krasnodar that mainly covers issues relating to the Armenian community, the Israeli students try now hiring a ship that will take them to Turkey.

The students have already bought some medical equipment and medicines to deliver them to the Armenians and Kurds living in Turkey now.

"We have decided to come and help the minorities living in Turkey and to show the world how hypocritical the Turkish Government is. We are sure that Turkey will not hamper us transferring the aid [to Armenians and Kurds]," said Boaz Toporovski, President of the Pan-Israeli Student Union.

"That will be a peaceful campaign, without knives and stones, with which the Flotilla Freedom peacemakers welcomed the Israeli soldiers. If [Recep Tayyip] Erdogan's words are in line with his kind heart, though we all know that it is not the case, then he must not have any reason to refuse us transferring the aid."
