Jewish Professors Call on Tel Aviv to Recognize Armenian Genocide

A group of Jewish professors has sent a letter to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu demanding to recognize the Armenian Genocide.

According to the Turkish news agency Firat the letter says that it is "high time that the Israeli authorities make a right decision over the Armenian Genocide issue, that is to say, to officially refer to the 1915 events as Genocide."

"We condemn the hypocrisy of the Turkish government which, despite all the agreements signed with Israel, is decisively tending to Israel's enemies. It is high time that Israel take the initiative and duly respond to all encroachments against itself," reads the letter.

Further the professors refer to the Kurdish issue in Turkey, requiring from the Ankara to give them autonomy.

"Ankara must give the Kurdish population living in the East-Western regions of Turkey an autonomous status," reads the letter.
