HAK Recommends Armenia's Authorities to Follow Britain's Example and Apology for March 1,2

When it comes to the March 1,2 events in 2008, Armenia's authorities must follow the example of Britain that recently made a long-awaited apology to the relatives of those killed in the Bloody Sunday some 38 years ago, member of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) Vahagn Khachatryan said at a press conference today.

In his words sooner or later the truth will be revealed.

"I want to one more time remind them [authorities] that you can't hide something that does exist. The facts we have pertaining to the March 1 events, the facts that have been presented to the public, the facts that even the so-called [Samvel] Nikoyan's commission is aware, will be impossible to conceal. Be it tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, those guilty will be punished," said Khachatryan.

Today, according to him, the rights of successors of March 1 victims are being violated in the courts.

"When the relatives of those killed [in March 1 events] turn to courts the latter show that they are not courts," said he, adding that truth always prevails.
