Facebook war over with Armenians winning

The hacker attack on the Armenian beta version of the famous social networking web site Facebook was over by yesterday afternoon.

Facebook's Armenian users identified the Azerbaijani-Turkish group that had jointly coordinated and implemented the attack by breaking into the Translation program and instead of correct translations posting their variants that read Long Live Azerbaijan, Karabakh is Azerbaijani Territory, etc.

The group has allegedly worked in the following way: they searched and found most frequently-met words and expressions in the most frequently visible pages, replaced them with their own versions, and placed the corresponding links on their page and called on their fans - several hundreds - to vote for those versions.

The Armenians counterattacked with the same strategy and now the mis-translations have disappeared from Facebook's Armenian version.

Ironically, despite numerous complaints the Facebook administration has not reacted to the incident yet.
