Clinton-Davutoglu phone conversation

A 45-minute-long phone conversation took place between Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton on Monday.

According to local Turkish news agency Anadolu Agency the two counterparts discussed issues such as Turkish-Israeli relations, Iran’s nukes, fight against Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), the incident between the Flotilla of Freedom and Israeli soldiers, as well as Clinton’s recent South Caucasus visit.

Speaking about this phone conversation US State Department spokesperson Philip Crowley said Clinton called on Davutoglu to continue the dialogue with Israel.

“Turkish-Israeli relations are essential for the future of the region,” said Crowley.
