Only Levon Ter-Petrosyan can bear the brunt of presidency: Lyudmila Sargsyan

It is only Armenia's former president Levon Ter-Petrosyan who can bear the brunt of the president today, head of Social Democrat Hunchak Party Lyudmila Harutyunyan said at a press conference today.

"Today, in any case, I do not see any woman and even man - except Levon Ter-Petrosyan - who could bear the brunt of being president," said she, commenting on a recent statement by the Heritage Party chairperson-elect Raffi Hovhanisian.

Earlier Hovhanisian said it would be better to have an alternative woman candidate for presidency.

According to Sargsyan it would simply be ridiculous to artificially think of announcing a woman candidate for Armenia's president as that position is such a serious and responsible one that all those thinking over announcing their candidacy for presidency should first of all think about whether or not they will be able to bear that brunt.

As what concerns her candidacy, Lyudmila Sargsyan said: "I do not see myself as president and I do not want it either."
