New political power to emerge in virtual world in Armenia: Sadoyan's forecasts

The world is undergoing radical changes - the information technological revolution, head of National Democratic Union Arshak Sadoyan told a press conference today.

"There are more serious expectations from the so-called semi-virtual world in Armenia prior the next parliamentary elections," said he.

Sadoyan foresees that information technologies and pressure on Armenians from the Diaspora will have a definitive role on the outcome of the next parliamentary elections.

"The emergence of new political powers is quite obvious," said he, adding that its representatives will mainly be the young ones.

According to Sadoyan some of the political powers will merge during the next parliamentary elections and form alliances.

"But the question will not be the creation of this or that alliance or combination between the old powers, but rather a triumphant campaign of new qualitative approaches. The Prosperous Armenia Party, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun, ARF-D) and the Armenian National Congress will not create an alliance. In a sense the PAP and the Republican Party of Armenia will come united."

In his words all of the powers that form now the parliament will be represented in the next one "but in small percentages." Though the new political power will hardly be a majority but it will play a serious role in the parliament.

The only thing that Sadoyan worries about is that the new political power will lack ideological unity.
