Georgia and Iran move to visa-free regime

Visa-free regime will be set between Georgia and Iran in September, Iranian ambassador to Georgia Madjid Samadzade Saber told the Georgian Maestro Television Company.

He stressed that this will allow intensifying the Georgian-Iranian relations and will promote further rapprochement of two peoples, according to local Azerbaijani news agency Trend.

Saber also expressed hope for the normalization of the Russian-Georgian relations.

"We dream of a time when relations between Russia and Georgia will improve and again become good-neighborly," he said, adding that if Moscow and Tbilisi officially appeal to Iran for mediation, then "this will be reviewed."
