Digitalization license tender launched in Armenia: Who will be left out?

Armenia’s National Commission for TV and Radio (NCTR) announced today a tender for licences that will allow the Armenian TV channels airing through a digital airing network, head of NCTR news service Lilit Gazazyan told Tert.am.

The digitalization will in all probability start next year and will last till 2015.

According to Ghazaryan the participants of this tender must from October 10-20 submit their applications and all the necessary documents.

The participant list will on October 20, 2010 be publicized on the NCTR website.

The selection will take place at 11 am on December 16, 2010.

Of all the 22 TV channels a maximum of 18 will be granted with the new license for digital airing.
