Former political prisoners receive credits under privileged conditions

In 2010 Armenia’s Government has allotted a total of about 78 million drams to 19 Armenian citizens who have been political prisoners or are their immediate heirs, according to a release issued by Armenia’s Ministry of Finance.

Aimed at improving their housing conditions, the credits are given under privileged conditions (1 per cent annually) and with 25-year payoff period.

These citizens will start paying the credits 3 years after the receipt of the credit.

As what concerns the per cents, they will be paid 2 years after the receipt.

Up to this day 257 citizens have participated in this project, and about 972 million drams have been allotted for the purpose.

The project was launched in 2001.
