Aliyev grants national hero's title to saboteur attaking Karabakhi post and killing Armenian soldiers

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree to posthumously award a title of Azerbaijani National Hero to Ibrahimov Mubariz for what the President's high award has termed as "outstanding service and bravery," reports Azerbaijani news agency Trend.

The President decided to perpetuate the memory of Azerbaijani National Hero Ibrahimov Mubariz by signing another decree. The Azerbaijani President instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to assign his name to one of Bilasuvar secondary schools and one of the streets in Bilasuvar region.

Ironically, Ibrahimov happens to be one of the Azerbaijani saboteurs who attacked a military post in Nagorno Karabakh during the murky night of June 18. Ibrahimov was the only casualty from the Azerbaijani side. But that attack left 5 Armenian soldiers killed and 3 wounded.

The attack was pre-planned and implemented immediately after Mr Aliyev returned from the Saint Petersburg meeting with his Armenian and Russian counterparts in the night of June 18 and did not participate in the economic summit to be held on the next day.
