Our statistics is either bad or very bad: Bagrat Asatryan

Former President of the Central Bank of Armenia Bagrat Asatryan is taken aback by the working style of Armenian Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia.

According to Bagratyan the data publicized by the Service jump to the eye with their lack of seriousness. In his words all the citizens of Armenia were from the beginning of the year aware of the fact that the situation in agriculture was bad, while the Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia has for five months been registering growth in the sector.

Further Asatryan said he considered it normal that the sector of Agriculture registered a downfall in June as it had suffered great losses due to natural disasters. Why the Service voiced about it only in June, according Asatryan, remains unclear.

"There have been no disasters in June. All happened at the beginning of the year. Our statistics is either bad or very bad," said Asatryan.

According to him the sector of agriculture is a dead one.

"For 20 years no reforms have been made in villages. There are one million potential migrants in villages. Unfortunately, no one thinks about it."
