Turkish Students award PM Erdogan with 'Oscar' for 'best actor of the year'

A group of student activists in Turkey has rallied on Thursday against a constitutional reform bill that was recently proposed by the Government and later adopted by the parliament.

According to Turkish daily Vatan the group titled Student Collectives was heading to the Government Building to hand Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan what they called an "Oscar" in the "best actor of the year" nomination.

The students also wanted to make a statement.

But law enforcement bodies did not allow the activists to come up to the building. Consequently the "prize" did not reach its owner. However, the protesters read the statement out loud.

Vatan does not elaborate as to the content of the statement.
