Turkish court sanctions to arrest 52 generals over coup charges

102 servicemen were detained within the framework of close investigation upstart to Sledgehammer (Balyoz)military coup d’etat in Turkey, reports Haberturk.

The court sanctioned the arrest op 102 servicemen which names were in the criminal case on 196 people.

Former commander of Military Air Forces, retired general Ibrahim Firtinna, ex-commander of Navy, retired admiral Ozden Ornak, former commander of first army, retired general Chetin Doghan are among those people.

These persons have been detained before, but wer released by the court decision within investigation period.

In general, 52 from 102 persons are generals; 26 of them are retired, other 26 are serving currently in the army. They are all charged of coup d’etat of the government in Turkey.

First court on the case will be held on December 16.
