Vandals profane Armenian graves in Novorossiysk

Vandals in the Russian city of Novorossiysk have profaned at least two cemeteries in the night of July 24.

According to Yerkramas newspapers, which mainly covers the life of local Armenians in Novorossiysk, some unidentified people have broken down gravestones of some 50 graves most of which belong to Armenian nationals.

The Luys Foundation in Novorossiysk has condemned the incident and has expressed its concerns about the incident and together with the local self-governing and law enforcement body is initiating steps to find the vandals and punish them.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time such incidents take place in Novorossiysk. The first act of barbarism took place on April 17 in 2002. Since then they have become of frequent occurrence.
