Aram Manukyan regrets; Karapet Rubinyan apologizes

The newly elected Board Chairman of the Armenian Pan-National Movement Party (HHSh) Aram Manukyan has disseminated a statement in which he expresses regret for some organizational omissions and shortcomings that took place on during the 16th Congress of the party and offended the party members.

"The newly elected board administration has scrupulously discussed all the opinions and discontents voiced after the 16th Congress. Particularly, separate meetings and discussions have taken place with the members of the territorial organization of Shengavit district and with Karapet Rubinyan. I am saying with regret that the due to some organizational omissions that took place during the tense situation prior the congress due to which we have unintentionally offended our party members for which we regret," reads the statement.

Karapet Rubinyan, a veteran HHSh member who recently left the party pointing to vote rigging during the election of the HHS Board Chairman, in turn has issued a release saying that those omissions during the Congress had made him baselessly criticize the leader of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) Levon Ter-Petrosyan, who is also a member of HHS.

"I am satisfied with the discussions with HHSh's newly elected board administration, and what is the most important, I have been given assurances and arguments that what happened were not intended to suffocate dissidence or punish someone but rather consequences of organizational omissions. I do regret that those omissions lead me to lie what it turns now to be groundless accusations on Levon Ter-Petrosyan for which I apologize. I want to perceive Aram Manukyan's statement as a new beginning of liberal-democratic reforms in HHSh and I frankly wish success to all our party members," says Rubinyan in the statement.
