Why did UAE not grant visas to Azerbaijani citizens?

Azerbaijan's embassy in the United Arab Emirates has sent a note of protest to the UAE Foreign Ministry asking to elaborate why the country does not grant visas to Azerbaijani male citizens.

The embassy told the Azerbaijani news website 1news.az that the problem has already been solved and that the Azerbaijani citizens will from now on not have any such problems.

On July 21 all Azerbaijani touristic agencies in Dubai had been notified that all Azerbaijani male citizens aged 18-60 would in the upcoming 10 days not be granted visas.

The source does not, however, elaborate as to why the Azerbaijani citizens were denied visas to UAE.
