Don't worry! There is enough flour and wheat, says Samvel Alexanyan

There is no need to worry about Russia's ban on wheat exports, Samvel Alexanyan, the proprietor of one of Armenia's leading wheat importing companies Alex Grig, told Tert.am asked to comment on the possible consequences of the Russian ban for Armenia.

"There is no problem with flour, wheat," said he adding that the company's stores are full of flour and wheat, and that there is no need for concern.

According to Mr Alexanyan their supplies in flour and wheat till December this year should the company not import any from now on.

"But we continue to import," he added.

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin signed a decree on Thursday to temporarily ban all exports of wheat and grain till December.

The decree will come into force from August 15.
