PKK on the offensive: attacks launched in 4 provinces in Turkey

Gunmen of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) mounted military attacks in the eastern and south-eastern provinces of Turkey on Thursday.

According to Turkish daily Milliyet the Kurdish rebels attacked a building in the Caldran region in Van province meant to be used for a reception service for Turkish authorities.

The gunmen attacked also a post of police Special Forces in Diyarbakir which left 3 policemen and 1 soldier wounded.

Six Kurdish gunmen were reportedly killed in these clashes.

Other Turkish sources report about clashes in the Aghr and Hakkari provinces.

According to Hurriyet clashes that started on Thursday near Ararat Mountain and left 1 Turkish soldier killed still continue.

Turkish aired forces are also involved in the counter-operations.
