New owner brings hope to Shirak club

Gyumri's "Shirak" football club will restore its position in the Armenian football as it is having now a new proprietor - Arman Sahakyan, President of Sovrano Group.

According to a release issued by Shirak's press office the club was having financial problems in the recent years and could not duly prepare for the matches of Armenian Championship and Armenian Cup.

Now the club has left the financial difficulties in the past and will in the course of time restore the position and the fame it used to have.

Shirak was Armenia's triple champion (1992, 1944 and 1999) and triple winner of super cup.

It has for several times become also the winner of Armenia's Championship.
