Two representatives of Holy Etchmiadzin to attend mass in Surb Khach

Two high-level representatives of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin will attend the September 19 mass to be served in Surb Khach Church (Saint Cross), head of information department of the Holy See Vahram Pastor Melikyan told Tert.am.

Surb Khach stands on Akhtamar Island located in Lake Van, Eastern Turkey, and has been closed for almost a century. It has recently been renovated and will be open on September 19 for that mass.

Vahram Pastor Melikyan said that the two representatives to attend the mass are Markos Bishop Hovhannisyan and Komitas Master Hovnanyan.

The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin has received an invitation from the Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople.

It is still unknown when the representatives of The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin will depart for Van.
