London penthouse apartment sells for record £140 million

A central London penthouse flat is being reported to have been sold for a whopping £140 million, which makes it the most expensive in the world, according to Telegraph.

The two-floor six-bedroom apartment at One Hyde Park development has a penthouse view over Central London, a private wine-tasting facility and an underground passage to a Heston Blumenthal restaurant.

Part of Christian and Nick Candy’s Knightsbridge development of 86 apartments, the flat even features a panic room and bulletproof windows for those unwanted situations. There are SAS-trained security guards who make sure you are always safe inside.

The apartment costs more than £6,000 per square foot and boasts floor-to-ceiling windows, a car park and access to spas and squash courts.
