Deadline for flour market players to report on their activities is expiring

August 12 was the deadline State Commission for Protection of Economic Competition (SCPEC) of the Republic of Armenia had set for two largest wheat importers to provide the Commission with information about their activity in the wheat flour market, SCPEC spokesperson Nelly Danielyan told Tert.am.

The Commission started to explore the wheat flour market following a rise in world wheat prices shortly after Russia's Prime Minister Vladimir Putin signed a decree imposing a ban on its wheat exports.

The Commission had in that relation sent inquiries to Alex Grig and Manana Grain companies asking for detailed information about their activities.

"Today is the deadline for collection of the documents," said Nelly Danielyan, adding she had no idea in how many days the documents will be delivered through mail.

According to the law the results of any study are being published after a 90-day period. But given the urgency of the situation in the wheat flour market the Commission has promised to publicise the information as soon as it completes the study.
